Function Consulting is a one-person consulting practice run by Chad Aaland in Boise, Idaho. This policy explains what information chadaaland.com collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: the site collects very little, uses no advertising trackers, and never sells or shares your information.
Information collected
The site does not require you to create an account or log in, and it does not run advertising or analytics tracking. Information reaches me in only two ways:
- When you contact me. If you use the contact form or email me directly, I receive what you choose to send, which typically includes your name, email address, company, and your message.
- Standard server logs. The site is hosted on Netlify, which, like most web hosts, automatically records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. This is used for security and to keep the site running, not to build a profile of you.
How your information is used
I use what you send only to respond to you and to follow up about a possible engagement. That is the entire purpose. I do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and I do not add you to a marketing list or newsletter.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and uses no third-party tracking pixels. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google; that request follows Google's privacy policy. No other third-party scripts run on the site.
Third parties and external links
The site is served by Netlify, and links out to profiles on services such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and Google. Once you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy policy governs your visit. I have no control over how those services handle your data.
Data retention
Messages you send are kept only as long as they are useful for our correspondence. If you would like anything you have sent me deleted, ask and I will remove it.
Your choices
You are never required to send personal information to use this site. If you have contacted me and want to see, correct, or delete what you sent, email me and I will take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Meaningful changes will be reflected in that date.
